FAQ
How Much Does It Cost To Have My Car Valeted?
There is a very comprehensive price list on my website, but as a general guide it will be determined by the following criteria:
a) How dirty the car is
b) The degree of difficulty of cleaning the vehicle( for example removing light scratches and unpleasant smells is a lot more challenging than general valeting and cleaning)
c) The level of detail required to get the vehicle to showroom condition
d) Size and age of vehicle ( generally speaking the older and larger the vehicle is, the more detailed a service is required, and the longer it takes.)
e) How long it takes to get to you ( if you are outside my normal area)
f) The length of time it takes to complete
Are you mobile?
Yes and I cover most of the Midlands area, which means I will come to your location, home, or place of work.
What happens if it rains, snows, is windy or icy?
Generally speaking I am still able to do the work as I have a portable canopy/shelter. The only thing that cannot be done in wet weather is hand polishing.
Can I cancel if it’s raining or an emergency crops up?
Yes, although preferably notice should be given as soon as possible as I cannot always replace your appointment at short notice.
Do you charge for Cancellations?
Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit, depending on the amount of work involved. But if at all possible I will attempt to book you in at a later more convenient date.
How long have you been running Autobright Car Valeting?
Since 1989.
Are you able to solve every cleaning challenge and remove every stain or mark on the vehicle?
Some stains become permanent, and some marks are only removed with very specialist treatments. However with all the contacts and experience I have, I will very quickly be able to tell you what can and cannot be done.
What about unpleasant smells and spillages in my vehicle can you remove the smells and stains?
Generally speaking the main smells I am able to remove are: cigarettes, milk, vomit, dogs, urine, faeces, and paint. All of these smells can be removed adequately, but in some cases it can be impossible to remove fully. I use a fogging machine which gets to all parts of the car and removes smell.
Why don’t I just use the local car wash it is much cheaper and convenient?
Yes that is true to a certain extent but I would avoid it if at all possible for the following reasons:
a) Paintwork on modern cars is now water based rather than lead based and is easily scratched if it isn’t washed using the correct techniques and chemicals
b) They may not be insured if something goes wrong.
c) They may not be experienced.
How long does it take to clean a car?
Anything from 1 hour to several days depending on the number of vehicles and the quality of work needed, but as a general rule 2 to 4 hours.
Can you get a same day booking?
Sometimes but it depends on whether there is a cancellation by another client. I would recommend at least 24 to 48 hours notice as appointments on the day aren’t always available.
Do you work weekends?
Yes but generally not on a Sunday and it also depends on availability and other appointments.
Do you need power and water to valet my car?
No as I carry that with me. However some of my equipment works a lot better with external power and generally will ask to use your power, as I carry my own extension leads. If this isn’t possible I can use my generator. I do carry my own water, but if you want a lot of vehicles doing or you are my last call of the day I may need to fill my tank up. Obviously I will advise you on the day.
